INEPT 15 Minutes of Fame: Continued

Boston (INEPT) - We have ranted. We have raved. We have professed our hatred in a loud and clear voice. And yes, dear Reader, we have sold a few T-shirts. But today is a big day for this blog: we have once again been embraced by the main-stream media. From an article in today's Boston Globe:
The team's steady success, while admirable, has become annoying to most fans outside New England. The I-Hate-The-New-England-Patriots blog offers a "Basic Hater Tee" for $15.95.

The author of this piece is the mighty John Powers, and we have nothing but praise for this brilliant Bostonian. One small disagreement: "annoyed" doesn't begin to cover the rage that boils within us.

John Powers likes the bloggers

The article does bring up a few points of concern, however. In particular, the last sentence is chilling:
"The film is going to run like water," says Sabol. "If they win the Super Bowl, this team will be remembered and celebrated as long as the game of football is played."

The very thought keeps us awake at night. It is one thing to have to suffer this year, quite another for an eternity. Indeed, this may be the definition of Football Hell.

T-shirt Sale: Now available at a volume discount. Special thanks to "Dropsy" Dennis Northcut (remember him, Cleveland fans?). Also, a shout out to Rodney HGHarrison, for repeated late-hits and spearing. Didn't cost him this time, but we can wait. That guy is just not screwed together right.

Jaguar Victory T-shirt: Almost, But Not Quite.

Haters admit desperation?

Music to my ears......

Not enough though. I'd like to see the run for 19 and done.

This is just sad...who REALLY thought the Pats would get beat by the Jaguars???? Seriously? People who get excited by the whole "Spygate" fiasco are lame - it didn't prove anything other than THE PATS ARE THE BEST TEAM EVER AND IF THEY DON'T WIN THE SUPERBOWL, SOMETHING IS WRONG IN THE UNIVERSE. Who cares about anything else? All you haters...how DO you sleep at night? Do you hold your blankies really close????
Sincerely - Pats fan for LIFE!

I hated them before they were good. I enjoyed when the Monsters of the Midway destroyed them. I enjoyed when they sucked all those years after. I just hope someone can crush the dreams of all patriot fans this playoff. It figures the loud mouth cheater rodney harrison would make the big play. It would be nice to see someone close his mouth. Everything thing that has happened this season has only made me hate them more. You know, no one hated the 49ers like they hate they patriots or the cowboys. Maybe because they had class and dignity. Not the arrogant smug attitude the cowboys had and the patriots have.

Why do people hate the Patriots? Simply put, it is because they have become smug little robots, assuming the persona of their coach. When they were underdogs in 2001, everyone loved them...they were gracious, humble and clearly "America's Team" in the aftermath of the 9/11 tragedy. But they have become callous, calculating and mechanical...the multitudes like to identify with the common man, not the stoic tyrant. I am the biggest fan of whatever team happens to be playing the Patriots, because I am so over New England, their jackass fans (half of whom jumped on the bandwagon after they became successful) and their uppity attitude. In all honesty, I would love nothing more than to see the Patriots against the Packers in Super Bowl XLII...and with :03 on the clock, Brett Favre tosses the winning touchdown, collectively shutting up all of New England at once and also taking that "S**t eating grin" off the face of pretty boy Tommy "Teeth" 'Fraidy.

Calling the Patriots arrogant and smug is ridiculous.

You don't see any 'Ocho Cinco', or T.O., or Ray Lewis, or Shaun Merriman on this team, running their trap.

Thank you, Snerdly, for stating the obvious (at least to Pats fans). This team is the least arrogant in the league — although they are the most confident.

A little reminder of what Hater in Chief told us in a previous post regarding The Moss Distortion Factor:
"The ability to hide many fundamental flaws with a single and unusually outstanding component."

Ha! How'd that theory work out for you in the Pats-Jags game? Do you ever tire of being wrong?

I said it before, I'll say it again: I haven't been impressed with the Colts all season. What a pathetic display against the banged-up Chargers. At home, no less.
Can't wait for the Pats to put that punk Phil Rivers in his place next weekend (if he plays, that is).

You should hang on to those t-shirts. They could become collector items just like the botched stamp with the upside down airplane. I heard that stamp sold for $500K in an auction.

Go Pats!!

DAMN YOU INDIANAPOLIS!! HOW THE FUCK DO YOU GET BEATEN BY BILLY VOLEK???? JUST CRY YOURSELVES TO SLEEP ALREADY.

Oh well. My dream of the Patriots whipping the Colts again is over. Now we Patriot Fans, should New England have the perfect season, will have to listen to Haters' sorry excuses about how the Colts with a healthy Marvin Harrison would have beaten them and more whiny blah, blah, blah..

Well San Diego was just a better team. They beat them without Tomlinson and with Billy "I can't believe I'm starting & WOW!! look at the pretty Colt Cheerleaders" Volek at QB. So Colt fans, save your excuses. I can't believe it either, but the Charger D came up huge and did what had to be done. It is what it is.

Bring on the Classy Chargers!!! YEAH BABY!! NO PRISONERS!! NO MERCY!!

GO PATS! Did anyone else here love seeing/hearing the SILENCE in the RCA dome after the obnoxious noises to prevent the guest offense from communicating? I particularly loved the little jab from Phil Rivers to the fan- oh and if you wanna talk class, sorry, no Patriot has ever done that.

"But they have become callous, calculating and mechanical...the multitudes like to identify with the common man, not the stoic tyrant."

So....you think the common man is emotional and naive? And you think leaders such as Octavian were tyrants?

Wow you sound like a total retard. No logic.

And yes Chip, I agree- but here's something that should shut the Colts up.

If they say "Manning had an amazing season without a lot of his star WR's so that makes him better" we can say "Brady won three superbowls without half of that kind of weaponry".

If they say "The Colts would have beaten you with a healthy Marvin Harrison/whoever" we can say "The Colts did not beat the Chargers, whom WE beat 38-14, with a healthy Marvin Harrison/whoever".

Anywho, I'm kind of glad we have the Chargers to beat. I personally, even though a Pats fan, LOVE LT......sorry, he's too funny. :) But I'd like to see that run for 19 and done.

The game today secondarily was amazing- both offenses were pathetic though. I expected better out of both.....but HOW BOUT THAT VOLEK?!

OH another thing-

The Colts lost to the second string QB. Another awesome thing to shout into the face of any Colts fan who won't take the loss without bitching about us.

Remember Indy fans: those cows aren't going to milk themselves.

It doesn't matter how stunned, bitter and hung-over you are, you're still going to have to get up at 4am and head out to the barn to hook those Holsteins up.

Take a few moments for yourselves afterwards though: drive that Caterpillar out to the far end of the North 40 and have a good hard cry to work it out.

If that doesn't work, just do what you always do: put on your official Payton Manning team jersey, find a dark corner of the trailer, crawl into another six-pack and wait for another miserable in Indiana day to finally come to an end.

The cows will be there waiting the next day too.

Arrogance is an exaggerated sense of self-worth in an overbearing manner. Sounds like the haters fit that description.

Belickick is neither overbearing nor does he exagerrate his self worth. That card is played as an insult by the low-esteem crowd. Get a paxil. Belichick hates arrogance, to wit Moss and Dillon being assimilated into the team.

Open invitation to T.O. - come home to papa. We'll show you the way.

i dunno, i've visited Boston and Indianapolis in the past year, and based on the women in each city, i think it's safe to say that the cows have long since migrated to Boston. yikes - it's like a lepor colony up there.

Just because Belichick has them all "drinking the Koolaid" doesn't mean they aren't arrogant. They are wayyyy arrogant. He's the worst of all, naturally.

Hey Daytona,

Last time I checked, this was still America and people could express their opinions. No need to get personal with your comments. Just as you have the right to love the Pats, I have every right to dislike them. Keep it objective and leave out the name calling.

Leave out the name calling? I'm sorry, but coming from the guy who called Tom Brady "Tommy "Teeth" 'Fraidy."

And oh, what about this one?
"I am so over New England, their jackass fans..."

And I never called you a retard. I said you SOUNDED LIKE ONE.

I'm very well aware of the opinion rule, I'm just saying yours doesn't sound very justified or intelligent

....and this isn't America, it's the internet. :)

No arrogant players. Rodney Harrison never shuts up. He's always in someones face talking trash. Just one crack back block to shut his yap would make me happy. Poking guys in the eye. NO CLASS is exactly what the patriots are.

9:43 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

No one would give a shit if it was their players acting like that.

It's only because of the Patriots. And how people are sick of their winning all the time.

I usually try to refrain from using that argument, but I now really think that is the case.

It's saddening. I thought football fans were the only ones who had no reason for bias or the dirt of human nature....I was wrong.

The Pats will lose eventually. Just not this Sunday.

Sorry that your teams couldn't beat them because they either:

1) Sucked too badly
2) Didn't get the chance to play them

When they lose, be proud of your team if they are the one to do it. Just don't get too excited, it's only the Patriots, right? If they are nothing special then don't be a hypocrite and act like it means anything other than a W. Obviously you think they are special in some type of way if they generate this much hate.

Don't worry they have cheaters on field, on the sideline, and in stripes. So as much as we want them to lose the NFL will help them to become the greatest team of cheaters yet.

Have a nice cry Patriot fans. It was the perfect season, the Patriot's got their asses kicked in the Super Bowl to go 18-1.
